Tattwa resort and spa – A luxury resort in Jim Corbett

For me Jim Corbett has always been enchanting with its peaceful forest area, carefree roaming animals, swiftly running streams and a lovely climate. So when I was invite to review a luxury resort in Corbett I was elated.

Barely 5 hours away from Delhi is Jim Corbett – tucked in solitude with wildlife being one of the major attractions to visit this place. We were invited by the Tattwa resort in Ramnagar.

The one year old gem is located in Ramnagar that exudes charm and elegance with its luxurious décor and spacious outdoors. The place acts as a perfect wedding destination and a quick getaway to detox from the city’s mechanical life.

Accommodation

There are 41 rooms and suites in total spaces across five categories – Standard Rooms, Jungle Cabana, Superior Rooms, Cottage Rooms and Suite. All designed in a luxurious style, with dark woods and rich wall colors, along with ornate fabric, regal though imitation art and all beautifully presented and spectacularly pristine clean.

There was an entrance hall as we entered the Junior Suite. The main bedroom area, into a decent-sized walk-in closet/dressing area with a marble-lined bathroom, complete with a separate rain shower. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless. There were large white towels, body lotion, tissues etc. and a large mirror.

The main bedroom had an oversized bed, extremely comfortable with beautiful linens/pillows. There was a deep blue sofa set with a table. Besides that, there were all technology connections which included a television set, power points, USB, HMDI, Bluetooth connection. There were water and tea/coffee sachets along with kettle for the convenience of guests.

Athithi – all day dining

There was a great choice of food, perfect for a vegetarian like myself but to non-veggies alike. Service was attentive, excellent quality of food and the chef even came out at one point to check everything was ok for the diners.

I loved their Indian cuisines. Having had quite a late lunch, we had no space for dessert but our server brought us an assortment of desserts.

For breakfast – there is a full English breakfast with a choice of eggs, juice, water, coffee/tea, a fruit bowl or porridge followed by some Indian dishes like paranthas and potato curry. The first morning we missed the buffet, but on the second we went for the full Indian breakfast.

There was a wedding event happening at the property, so it was a delight to enjoy the celebrations with them. The day we arrived, a mehendi ceremony was happening and were delighted ourselves by applying mehendi on our hands and enjoying the celebrations. There are three lawns in the property so when an event occurs, the laws are decorated with the particular theme and guests are welcomed there.

We were lucky to celebrate our anniversary at the resort.  The MD, Mr. Mukesh and his team surprised us with a wonderful anniversary cake and the staff congratulated us. It was a wonderful experience.

On the second day of the marriage function, rich colors ordained the wedding décor.  Large floral display on circular glass table, backed by crystal chandeliers looked beautiful.

Facilities & Service

In terms of the accommodation and general ambience of the hotel, this was absolutely spot on as was the service from every single member of staff that we came into contact with. The restaurant was great as was the adjacent bar near the entrance and there was an outside space called buns in the oven at the entrance of the hotel that is open 24/7.

A fully functional pool with relaxing lounge chairs look inviting and gel well with the idyllic setting of huge trees with birds perched on them. The calming location and picturesque background creates the perfect epiphany for a midsummer night’s dream. The cabanas in the far end look endearing as they compliment the idyllic setting with tall trees and soothing sounds of birds.

They also have a fully functional spa with a steam and Jacuzzi to soothe and pamper the senses and glide into relaxation.

Activities

The resort creates itineraries for guests to explore the wild life with their safaris in into the jungle. Early morning safaris in the mornings are worth experiencing. If you are lucky, you can spot tigers on your morning trail. There are other animals also like jackals, sambar deers, boars and elephants that can catch your attention. Bird watching is another interesting activity here. Wake up to the sound of birds and enjoy different species of birds while trekking into the forest.

Our early morning jeep safari was something I can never forget. Breezing through the chilly winds and passing through bending roads, we reached a chai stall that serves tandoori tea – a specialty in Ramnagar. The tea cups are baked and in them are served hot boiling tea ready to serve. We loved the taste of tea and loved on towards the next destination for our breakfast.

After half an hour we reached Corbett greens where we devoured a hearty breakfast amidst natural surroundings.  Later we moved towards the Dhangarhi museum. The museum has wildlife displays, theater where you get see a 3D short film, an experience center where you feel close to the animals. The museum is worth visiting.

After the amazing experience, we move on towards the resort and enjoy the rest of the day where the wedding scene was all in full show. After lunch, we moved on to explore the village where we spotted jackals and enjoyed a nice sunset with birds flying in the sky.

The next day we visited a women’s welfare scheme where women baked cookies and pickles. It was wonderful to see how dedicated the team was in making those goodies with full enthusiasm. The cookies are delicious and healthy too.

After thanking the team for such a wonderful staycation, we moved towards our destination Delhi and took with us a bag full of memories. You can book a vacation with them here.
