Hideaway Cottage Parwanoo – Getaway from Delhi

Barely 5.5 hours from Delhi, is a quaint hill station Parwanoo that is less visited by tourists and offers a calming sensation to the mind with the soothing sounds of chirping birds, rustling leaves and gentle breeze caressing the skin.

Devoid of Delhi’s unending pollution tempered with noise from traffic, this beautiful hill station is a respite for them offering a deeper connection with nature.

How to reach there

The roads from Delhi via the Chandigrah Simla expressway is smooth, so you are guaranteed to enjoy the ride. Due to the perfect road condition, we entered Parwanoo, after an uphill drive for half an hour. We arrived at the our beautiful cottage – The Hideaway Parwaanoo, home for the next two days. We had booked this cottage for my 50th birthday. I was ecstatic to see the cottage.

Nestled deep inside the woods and open to the majestic mountains, the cottage is a nature lovers’ delight. Waking up to surreal views of the mountains and trees and enjoying the gentle breeze while sitting in the balcony is what you can cherish at Hideaway Parwanoo.

The cottage comes with 4 tastefully decorated room that has touches of vintage reflected in their upholstery. Each room has a stone wall finish  and allows natural light to come in through the floor to ceiling windows.

There are two big chairs and a small table, a king size bed with bed side tables and a balcony that offers beautiful views of the mountains. The attached washrooms are spacious and well equipped with running hot water, a basin with luxury toiletries and a rain shower.

The spacious living room has huge sofas with floral prints,a  coffee table, LED Smart screen and a dining area. Windows offer beautiful views to soak in while you enjoy your meal.

Food

The food at Hideway Parwanoo is excellent. Made with ingredients from their own kitchen garden, it is fresh and delicious. The menu comprises of Indian offerings like lentils, vegetables, rice and rotis – all freshly made by their resident chef. We specifically loved the breakfast in the open, enjoying the rays of the sun while sipping warm tea and relishing the freshly made poha, eggsa and parantha.

Activities

There are activities that you can enjoy with your family while staying at the Hideaway cottage. Indulge in a carom board game or soak in the jaccuzzi. A massage chair is also available and a masseur on request who can be booked few days prior. Bonfires can be enjoyed at night while listening to silence of the hills and gazing at the sky with million stars – something that is completely rare in the metropolitan city.

The staff had set up the living room with a fabulous decoration for my birthday. There wine glasses, flowers, balloons and a cake set up.
