Themis Mudhouse Nature Resort – A wellness village retreat near Delhi

We all look for quick getaways from Delhi to beat the stress or simply run away from the city life.

Today, we bring to you Themis – a mudhouse resort based in Rohtak. The highlight about this property is their healing therapies that are offered in their world class wellness center.

How we reached the place

Themis is barely an hour away from Delhi. Located in Rohtak, it matches the vibe of the ethnic village – vibrant and colorful. You can easily drive to this place that is located on the highway and easily accessible.

A quick check-in and few formalities later, we approached our private villa where we were booked for half a day.

Rooms

The room is spacious with touches of rustic village blending well with luxury artifacts and vintage furniture.

What we loved most was the view from the room –swaying trees and well maintained gardens.

The queen size poster beds with side tables are comfortable and offer a nice relaxing sleep.

The attached washroom is huge that opens up to an open air bath tub experience. I skipped that due to the scorching heat outside.

Dining

The experiential began with a nice buffet breakfast comprising of south vegetarian food items like dosa, idli and sambhar. The North Indian food comprises of puri and vegetables and paranthas. There were options of juices, buttermilk and smoothies. The meal is good and the service is commendable.  

During lunch time, we preferred to have in-room dining and enjoyed their continental fare comprising of quinoa salad, grilled fish and herb chicken. The chef is well trained and ensures the meals are prepared with finesse. We loved each dish that had the perfect balance of flavor and taste.

The roof top is well equipped with pool tables and board games where one can enjoy with friends. There are huge trees spread everywhere – mango, jamun, guava that add to the cooling vibe of the ethnic village.

A huge pool located in the center is perfect to cool off with friends and families during summer. There is also a small bar located near the poolside where you can enjoy drinks.

Wellness

We especially loved the wellness center that is equipped with healing therapies based on Ayurveda like panchkarma, abhyanga and shirodhara. The resident doctor helps in assessing the health conditions of the guests and advice them based on their doshas.

My mother went for the abhyanga massage therapy and felt relaxed after a session of 60 minutes. The masseuse applies gentle pressure to accentuate the healing process. Their trained staff and healing therapies are worth experiencing. Besides this, they also have a mud therapy, that helps in cooling and balancing the mind, body and soul.

Activities

Themis has a variety of activities like horse riding, pottery making and cycling for the adventure lovers. The evenings transform the madhouse into something more romantic – there is music and lights everywhere that enlightens the space and makes it look more endearing.
