The Elle Carnival for a cause @ Taj Mahal Hotel

In a constant endeavor to provide
unique and meaningful experiences to its patrons, The Taj Mahal Hotel, New
Delhi  in association with Elle,
organized a ‘Carnival for a Cause’ to spread awareness about breast cancer on
Sunday evening. It was an initiative to raise funds to support the Ogaan Cancer
Foundation and Women’s Cancer Initiative- Tata Memorial Hospital that work in
the area of breast health.

The carnival witnessed the presence of some of the
most renowned names of the fashion fraternity. Their beautiful creations were
retailed at an affordable price over an exclusive sundowner on beautiful
poolside lawns of the hotel.

 The fashionable evening witnessed the
attendance of Delhi’s gliteratti such as Atsu, Pallavi Mohan, Alpana and
Neeraj, Peter D’scoli, Ruchika Sachdeva, Sahil Kochar amongst others who
extended their support to the cause.
Fashion joined hands against
breast cancer as members from the fashion industry donated their creations,
which were retailed through the carnival. Participating designers included
Rohit Bal, Shantanu and Nikhil, Gaurav Gupta, Tarun Tahiliani, JJ Valaya,
Pernia Qureshi, Dior and Forest Essentials.
A silent auction featuring designer
merchandise from prestige brands like Tod’s, Gucci, Chanel, Christian
Louboutin, Hermes contributed to the event. Sonam Kapoor, a dedicated
Ambassador to the cause, donated a special bag to raise proceeds for the
carnival. The carnival featured several fun
activities such as tarot-reading and a special kid’s corner and a live band
performed scintillating tunes as the guests explored the stalls.
Always experimenting with themes,
this time around, the carnival had been themed on Sailors, and the crowd saw
nautical themed outfits and savored scrumptious bites in keeping with the theme
beautifully. The Hotel had put together an exclusive and sumptuous menu
offering Spanish style Queen olive wrapped prawns, tapas and tortillas along
with Coastal Indian delicacies such as Beetroot Appams, Aloo Posto amongst
others.
A unique initiative, the Elle
‘Carnival for a Cause’ raises funds to support Women’s Cancer Initiative – Tata
Memorial Hospital and the Ogaan Cancer Foundation. These organizations work
towards breast cancer awareness.
The Elle Carnival raises funds through the
sale of designer wear and luxury merchandise at an affordable price. Delhi came
out in full support of the cause and showed their support by participating in
the carnival with great enthusiasm.
The annual event has been a springtime
favorite for the city, where they have been able to contribute to a cause while
enjoying a wonderful evening.
