Dyo village resort, Mukteshwar – A beautiful pet friendly resort

My Experience at Dyo – The organic village resort, Mukteshwar was a weekend of Peace, Simplicity, and Nature.

Last weekend, I had the chance to step away from the noise of the city and immerse myself in a world of greenery, chirping birds, and slow living at a beautiful farm resort in Mukteshwar.

What started as a simple getaway turned into a soul-refreshing experience that I didn’t know I needed. Best thing that it was pet friendly.

First Impressions

After a beautiful windy drive, we arrived at Dyo retreat.
We were greeted with the earthy aroma of fresh soil and the distant sound of chirping birds.

The air was cooler, crisper—even the sky looked wider and brighter. The check-in process was quick and warm, not just professionally efficient but genuinely welcoming.

We met the manager and the hospitable staff who offered us a fresh welcome drink made with Buransh flowers – cooling and refreshing.

Unlike a typical hotel, the staff here felt more like hosts than employees.

Cozy Stay

Our room was a spacious wooden cottage with a sloped roof, floral curtains, and a cozy bed draped in a soft quilt.

The attached washroom had a walk in closet and luxury essentials with double sink and rain shower. Soft bath towels exuded a luxury bathing experience.

My favorite part was in the corner of the room, where a sofa wa kept with a table. Floor to ceiling window with natural light enlived the room.

There was a television, but honestly, we barely watched.

Instead, the wide window opened to a view of the floating sky and well landscaped garden, where our little pet enjoyed running freely.

Farm-to-Table Delights

One of the highlights of our stay was the food. Every meal was freshly prepared using vegetables grown on-site. I loved picking fresh mint, coriander and mint during a guided farm walk.

Imagine biting into a salad made of lettuce you just harvested—it’s as fresh as food gets. Breakfast featured homemade jams, pickles and dips, all complimenting warm milk straight from the cow, and local honey on toast.

Worth trying is the Kumaoni thaali, made with fresh ingredients – this is a meal worth cherishing. Each vegetable echoes flavor and taste and you float on a whimsical ride with each bite.

Activities That Nourish the Soul

The farm resort offered a mix of activities—none of which felt forced or commercialized. There were guided treks in the forest and farm. Honestly the jungle trek is worth experiencing. I loved the forest bathing that felt so therapeutic.

There was also a sunset trek where we enjoyed a hot cuppa watching the sun hiding behind the clouds.

In the evenings, a bonfire was lit, and we all sat around it sharing stories, singing songs, and enjoying drinks.

Disconnect to Reconnect

Although the Wi-Fi is excellent throughout most areas, and I was happy enjoying working while taking in the scenic views, yet there were moments, where I switched off all gadgets and surrendered to the tranquility of the space around.

I journaled, read a book I’d been putting off for months, and actually watched the sunset without rushing to take a photo.

Best thing was the connection with my family, uninterrupted without any distractions. My pet was enjoying around, sniffing plants and was loved by the entire team.

Saying Goodbye Wasn’t Easy

When it was time to leave, I was really upset. I had formed an unexpected connection—not just with the people and animals, but with a simpler, quieter part of myself that city life often drowns out.

Final Thoughts

If you ever get the chance to visit Mukteshwar, do consider staying at Dyo retreat.

Go not just to escape your routine, but to rediscover what it feels like to wake up with the sun, eat with gratitude, and sleep with a quiet heart.
