Farmout – fresh food seasoned with health

Galleria in Gurgaon
is home to the best eating outlets in NCR. It is uncanny that you would have to
struggle to find a decent place for a meal. The latest in the offering is
Farmout that opened 7 months back.
The owner, Arijit Ganguly is a food lover who left his plush corporate job to do what he loves the most

– making people
happy by serving delicious yet healthy food. Arijit focuses on ethics and
sustainability.

His stint with the food review bit prompted him to jump on the
other side. His decision made him a far more content and happy person. He loves
the fact that people come here to unleash their creative juices while settling for
something healthy to eat.

Located on the
first floor of Galleria, Farmout is a small café that opens up to an imaginary
world in itself. Each corner exuberates energy and look spacious enough to
cater to a large group of 15 people all at one go.

One wall that
shouts organic farming shares space with a book shelf that has books from
across the globe. You can always fall in love with one of the books while
sipping a hot latte.
The benches placed
inside offer space and comfort to diners. Farmout is committed to celebrating fresh
ingredients while offering a more relaxed engagement between the restaurant and
its customers.

The menu’s first
page appealed me with health options. The Annapurna drink my daughter ordered was prepared with cucumber, mint, lemon seasoned with rock salt and Indian spices that is refreshing
and delicious. I ordered for the Desi Gingerete , a la ginger tea made with the
goodness of ginger, cinnamon and cloves, without tea leaves and milk. A perfect
cure for a sore throat.

We started with a Proteinosaurus
Salad. The exotic garden greens worked well with the Egg white and grilled
chicken while the cottage cheese, walnut, baby corn were accentuated well with Argentinian
Chimichuri dressing.

Next we ordered a
variety of sandwiches to bite into different flavors. While my husband
preferred the Requiem for Chicken, I settled for the vegetarian  mediterranean Farmer. My daughter on the
other hand took the Oriental Bagoda. The moderately spicy sandwiches were
served in a Focaccia bread that is soft and tasty. They were
accompanied with the special Farmout salad made with  fresh veggies and peanuts spruced with a very
light honey lemon dressing.

I was very
impressed with my sandwich as it had a generous amount of olive oil that sealed
the flavors and surprisingly wasn’t greasy at all. The freshness is vocal as
you bite into the greens. Farmout wants people to taste the original taste of
vegetables so Arijit ensures that less amount of dressing goes into the
sandwiches.

We sealed the deal
with a Red Velvet dessert. Imbued with an alluring deep red tinge, the sweet
tang of cream cheese frosting was far too tempting to ignore.

The freshly
prepared latte in the end screamed efficiency with the magic of blended coffee
beans from Karnataka’s coffee estates.
