Ramada Plaza by Wyndham JHV Varanasi – A Luxury Hotel in the heart of Varanasi

Varanasi – a place where ghats and temples dominate the existence of mankind and play a pivotal role in embracing freedom of the soul. A land where one can find solitude on the sacred river – the cleanest river in India. Varanasi has its own special atmosphere and a colorful vibe.

We got a chance to review one of the most classiest and luxurious property in the heart of Varanasi – Ramada Plaza by Wyndham JHV Varanasi. A flight distance of an hour and half from Delhi, we reached the religious city with ease and comfort with Go Air.

Upon arrival, we breezed through the covid protocols at the Varanasi airport and headed out to board the cab send by the hotel. Greeted by the courteous driver who escorts us to the cab we felt safe and relaxed after boarding the cab, equipped with water and a welcome kit.

In a little over half an hour from the Varanasi airport, we reached the hotel. A unique blend of luxury and Indian tradition with culinary experiences inspired by the culture of Banaras, the property is located in the heart of the city. The luxury Hotel creates its own interpretation on the cultural amalgamation, promising a contemporary signature world class service and hospitality.

Ramada Plaza by Wyndham JHV Varanasi – An epitome of luxury

Ramada Plaza JHV brings together the chic with the contemporary innovation that offers style and sophistication yet offers the authentic personality of the city.

Warm welcome by the team

We loved the Check-in and welcome experience in the lobby. A pan flavored mojito greeted us on arrival. We loved the freshness and tangy taste of the drink and devoured it. The striking lobby isn’t just relying on its good looks to get by – the team equally impress with a generous welcome and thoughtful attentiveness during the stay.

After a lovely welcome by the courteous team, we headed across the emblematic lobby, with its legendary art deco lobby bar, to the elevators and up to our rooms on the third floor.

Accomodation

Ramada Plaza by Wyndham JHV Varanasi offers 120 splendid guest rooms including 90 Superior rooms, 21 club rooms and 9 suites with an exclusive club floor. There is a dedicated club lounge area overseeing river Varuna and lush green surroundings.

Rooms and suites have the signature Ramada style, with natural woods, minimalism, and a focus on quality.

Every room has its own style and ambiance with extravagant dimensions and bold interiors.  Signature details include luxury artefacts that are strikingly contemporary. Bathrooms are beautifully appointed with thoughtful touches and excellent amenities.

All the rooms highlight an exotic blend of contemporary and stylish décor with a feature of garden and pool view.

We stayed in the superior room with a view to die for. The calming space with a muted, soothing palette was absolutely perfect for our staycation. Welcome treats includes a platter of fruits, cookies and cakes as a gesture of genuine hospitality.

Their rooms come with floor-to-ceiling windows filling the room with natural light giving the interiors and furnishings making it more homely.

Facilities

From breakfast buffets in their all day dining restaurant, a lazy afternoon by the pool, a pampering facial in their salon, Ramada JHV stands perfect.

Live music

Get smothered with a regale collection of classical sufi music from Banaras as the maestros hymn their way to your hearts while you dine in their restaurant Tadka. Each night, the talented singers bring together a bouquet of classical sufi collection to make your evenings enchanting.

Weddings, events and conferences –

Ramada JHV features an expansive area perfect for large gatherings. The space is well utilized for destination weddings, parties, events and conferences. The Santoor Ballroom on the 6th floor overlooks the ancient river Varuna. A garden space spread over an area of 1,32,000 Sq. Ft.  (Total event space 1,47,000sq. ft.) is ideal for weddings.

Excursions in the city –

The team at Ramada is always delighted to arrange excursions to explore the religious city, or make arrangements for solo travel. They are super efficient in booking air tickets as well.

There was always a cab available to take us around the city, for marketing, sight-seeing and much more. The cab was always sanitized and equipped with water bottles. The driver was patient and well groomed with an excellent talent to drive through the crowded narrow lanes to reach the destination.

Ramada JHV is all about having a good time. That means loads of activities to choose from, direct access to the city’s best temples, feel-good entertainment and live music in their restaurant and a bar to enjoy the signature cocktails.

Due to covid we weren’t able to visit many places in the city, but were lucky to visit the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple. The ghats are also worth visiting as they are comparatively cleaner after the cleanliness drive by Modi. Don’t miss the Banaras silk saree shopping when you visit Varanasi. The hotel guides will help you reach the perfect shops to buy the perfect suit and saree.

Salon –

The Hotel’s salon Habib is a real highlight that is worth experiencing. It has a special cabin for beauty treatments, whilst the spacious salon area offers a complete makeover in hair care.

Their hair master is excellent with haircuts and hair spas. We had a brilliant time enjoying the luxurious deep cleansing facials, a rejuvenating hair spa and a hair cut by the hair master Iqbal, who is well trained under Javed Habib and gives the best haircuts to famous personalities.

Dining

The dining experience at Ramada is a delight. You can head to their all day dining restaurant with a wide dining space. It’s the place for buffets in breakfast and dinner, fresh juices, exotic salads and scrumptious a-la carte dishes.

We relished their traditional offerings like the famous litti chokha, a dish famous in Bihar. The mouth-watering desserts like jalebi and rabri are equally delicious.

The staff is always courteous and ready to serve when you require. In-room dining is also worth mentioning as they reflect timely service.

They also have a live teppanyaki space to create delicious Thai delicacies. My personal favourite was the teppanyaki greens that echoed freshness and flavour in each bite.

Tadka – Indian restaurant

Their Indian restaurant Tadka is absolutely worth visiting. If you are in a mood for some scrumptious kababs and biryanis, this place is the one to be. Their live classical performances are worth watching. Don’t miss the expressions and dedicated lyrics by the singers as they create enchanting melodies to make your dining experience more cherishing. For dinner, we were served their speciality dish – bamboo biryani.

Served hot in a bamboo, the chicken biryani is an aromatic delicacy curated by their executive chef, which is simply drool worthy.

Conclusion –

Ramada Plaza by Wyndham JHV is an experience that curates memories of a lifetime. The courteous staff and warm hospitality is always top notch.
